Please keep in mind I am not formally educated the brewing arts and anything I write in this portion of the blog comes from nursing a love of beer for over 20 years. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and we are blessed with a lively microbrew culture. This is my first ever written beer review. Sure, I recommend beers to pals all the time but I have never written anything down. Until now. If you have beers to recommend or have differing opinions, please drop me a line. Bottoms up!

So I was listening to NPR's coverage of debt ceiling resolution and I thought to myself “Self, what would make the pain go away?” Beer was the answer. So I looked into my fridge and found a nicely chilled 22 ounce bottle of Drake's Denogginizer from Drake's Brewing in beautiful San Leandro, California.

It's a hoppy beer with a beautiful coppery color in the Double or Imperial IPA family. There's a nice tight head at the top that dissipates rather quickly leaving your brew below. Your nose will be treated to a malty aroma resulting in a enduring hoppy maltedness as the aftertaste. Now, the Denogginizer is a tasty beer with a decent punch as it weighs in at a hefty 9.75% alcohol by volume. This beer will creep on you a bit. Maybe it's me but I usually do not have food with higher alcohol content brews. That being said, a few salt n pepper potato chips complimented this beer nicely.
