Watching a morning show a couple of days ago, I was blown away by the story of President Obama's being the first president to brew beer in the White House. I wondered to myself, “Self, surely there has been beer brewed at the White House, before.” Hell, what about that famous quote attributed to Benjamin Franklin about beer being proof that God loves us? A leisurely perusal of the interwebs suggests old Ben was more into wine than beer.

The beer was served up recently at a powwow between the President and a Medal of Honor Recipient. Really cool, if you ask me. I like the idea of our commander in chief being able to relax with a cold one.

What I wouldn't do to get some of that beer. Unfortunately, it is of limited release and I am unlikely to get an invitation to a beer summit anytime soon. Which really sucks since I have a bit of free time lately. So if anyone out there has tried this ale, please drop me a line telling me about it. You may become the Beer Friday guy for a week.
